Education
I graduated from UC Davis in 2010. I majored in English and got a minor in Philosophy. I also learned some Chinese after spending three years in Taiwan. I have also passed all areas of the CBEST (test results available upon request). I am now looking to further my studies by getting a teaching credential and a master's degree from another university.
Experience
I am currently living in Thailand and I work as an ESL English teacher to native speakers of Chinese. After over 7 years of teaching I have collected hundreds of lessons from beginner to advanced. Whatever your level, I have lessons ready for you. ^_^ I am looking to leave my current company and teach students in small groups so you can save money and I can make more money. The last four years I have spent in Thailand working on my AirBNB business and teaching English. I spent a year working with infants and toddlers. I worked at Bright Horizons and I had a lot of fun working with preschool students there. They are an amazing age and it was great fun in the classroom. I spent 3 years in Taiwan teaching English to native Chinese speaking students. This is where I learned the majority of my ESL teaching skills and I have been improving them ever since. I have spent two years working with children ages 0-3 teaching them the basic developmental skills they need to survive and thrive. I spent a year and a half in Seaside and another four months in Germany working at various Child Development Centers (CDC). I spent over a year of tutoring English at the Woodland High School Learning Services Center. While taking 17 units, I was also an intern for the Writing Ambassadors program at UC Davis where I worked in three different locations with three different age groups. I taught 2nd and 3rd graders how to read at North Davis Elementary. I taught vital essay writing skills with sophomores and juniors at Davis Senior High School. Finally I also worked with private clients on this very website all at the same time I was taking 17 units and working as a lifeguard at the rec pool. I spent a summer in Italy as a camp counselor working for Camp Adventure for 3 months teaching swimming lessons and working as a day camp counselor for children ages 5-13. I was an ArtsBridge intern where I worked in Sacramento elementary schools with 3-4th grade underprivileged students to lead an entire class on Shakespeare and drama lessons and theater games.
